가자 Korea Diary 13: Stylenanda Pink Hotel & Pink Cool Cafe @ Myeongdong 스타일난다 명동점

K-fashion lovers will definitely know the fashion empire Stylenanda. I don't remember how and when did I come across this brand but it has always remained as a favourite brand of mine ever since I discovered it.

The founder and brain of Stylenanda goes by the name of Kim So-hee. In 2004, Kim sold a jacket on Auction (a platform that's like eBay in South Korea) which she bought from Dongdaemun fashion market. From there, everything took off and the rest is history. 15 years later, Stylenanda not only carries fashion pieces but also has their own line of makeup products named 3CE and has their signature pink flagship stores over several countries in Southeast Asia.

The name Stylenanda consists of the English word "Style" and "Nanda난다" in Korean means me. My own (humble) interpretation of the name Stylenanda implies that it is a brand where you can find your own style and it is up to you to define what you wear and how you dress.

Indeed, Stylenanda does live up to its name (if my interpretation's right) because they carry a multitude of fashion pieces and accessories - casual, formal, girly, edgy...whatever you want, they have it!

I am a very nosy person, so I love a good inspiring story behind a brand. I'm a huge fan of Sophia Amoruso - the founder of Nasty Gal. If you haven't read the book #GIRLBOSS, you should! That's one of my favourite books of all time and I return to it whenever I need a kick in the butt. Or you prefer watching TV, then watch the Netflix series 'Girlboss' which is based off a loose series of Sophia's life events. The story of Stylenanda's pretty similar to that of Nasty Gal's.

Visiting Stylenanda's flagship store in Myeongdong (스타일난다 – 명동점) is one of the places that I had on my to-go-lists. Afterall Myeongdong is a bustling must-go beauty and fashion hub for everyone. I'll explain more in the next post.

To get to Stylenanda's Myeongdong flagship store, take exit 6 at Myeongdong's subway stop. Turn left into the main shopping street. On the 2nd street, turn right and Stylenanda will be on your right. It's very eye-catching with its pink facade so you won't miss it!

Though many are arguing that the traditional brick and mortar retail stores are closing down and moving online because it's not cost effective. However, this is not the case for Stylenanda.

The brand Stylenanda is such an icon that not only they are good with their products, they made such a fabulous job in creating an extraordinary experience for visitors of their flagship stores. How can you not appreciate the effort and intricate details that went into the designing process.

The Pink Hotel of Stylenanda, like its name suggests, is a huge house of all-things-pink. Though I am not a pink lover myself, I totally enjoyed being immersed in this big pink cotton candy space!

Just to clarify again, this is a flagship store of Stylenanda that looks like a hotel but it's not a hotel. Sorry to burst your pink bubble if you are looking to stay a night here.

The interior of Stylenanda's Pink Hotel is incredibly pink with pops of colours here and there while giving off the classy vibes of a vintage hotel of New York back in the 60s.

If you are oversees, don't worry, you can still shop online at www.stylenanda.com as they offer worldwide shipping.

My personal tip to share:

Stylenanda regularly announces 1-day-free-shipping deals on their social media platforms, so do follow them on social media to not miss out on this deal. If you have something that you are eyeing on, you could use that opportunity to just go all out on your spree when that day comes.

There's a comfy bed hanging in the air.

It looks like this when you look up from the ground floor.

I love love love love love this level so much!!!! My jaw literally dropped when I entered here because the whole concept's just brilliant!

The famous Pink Pool Cafe

I love the colour combination and it really does look like a pool and shower corner of a girls' high school.

I have a fetish for neon lights and holographic decor items.

It was autumn so it's pretty chilly. It'd be perfect to come here with a cup of takeaway Americano and chill with your friends on a cozy weekend out.

Glad that I was wearing a pastel blue sweater on that day so I fit nicely with the Pink Pool Cafe's pink-and-blue theme.

Not to mention that Stylenanda's models are all really gorgeous - just like in America's Victoria Secret having their Angels (models).

My favourite Stylenanda model is definitely Park Sora (the one in the photo above).

Just look at the packaging for the makeup products! I haven't tried out any of their makeup products so I can't really vouch for their quality. But I have heard good things about them especially for their lipsticks, blushes and eyeshadows.

As most of you would've known that I don't quite wear dresses or skirts but everytime when I look at Stylenanda's skirts, I would have the impulse to buy them. Both of my favourite skirts are from Stylenanda and they are still in pretty perfect condition! So I highly recommend them!

Ahhh, it feels good to get back to this 가자 Korea Diary series. I'm breaking down this day out at Myeongdong into 3 parts because it's going to be too long. This is part 1 and I can't wait for the upcoming blog posts.
