Food Review @ Living Room, Macalister Mansion

Situated on Macalister Road, Macalister Mansion is a beautiful boutique hotel that is designed around the idea of an old English mansion. Each space is designed to provide hospitality of an actual home - each space in Macalister Mansion is branded as distinct rooms serving different types, namely BLANC, Living Room, The Cellar, The Lawn and 8 Rooms.

Today's blog post is going to be a food review at Living Room which is a casual dining place to enjoy a delectable selection of both local and international cuisines as well as a cozy place to hang out with your loved ones.

Loving the interior designs so much!

First things first, I ordered a hot cup of Chai Latte (MYR 14) - because that's what life is all about, duh!

There's a complimentary marshmallow too. As usual, I gobbled that right away. If you are a fan of marshmallows like me, check this blog post out for another marshmallow hunting place in Penang.

Cleansing (MYR14) - consisted of apple, honeydew, cucumber and wheatgrass

Iced Mocha (MYR 18)

Iced Peach Latte (MYR 18)

At Living Room, they serve finest quality TWG Tea (MYR 24 per pot) - you have a huge collection of the finest tea leaves to choose from.

Aglio Olio Pasta (MYR 19)

Teriyaki Burger with Chicken Patty (MYR 30)

Teriyaki Burger with Australian Beef (MYR 39)

Kam Heong Pasta (MYR 28)
Served with Tiger prawns, taste the flavour of the fiery bird's eye chili with aromatic curry leaves, crispy bits of dried shrimp, curry powder and soy bean paste, this is an exclusive dish that is available only at Living Room.

Dry Laksa Pasta (MYR 38)

Chicken Satay (MYR 18)

Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah (MYR 25)
The chicken thigh is skillfully fried until the skin is deliciously crispy but retains the juiciness of the meat, complemented by the homemade sambal, toasted peanut, hard-boiled egg, cucumber and ikan bilis.

Fish Head Curry & Roti Prata (MYR 48)
The head of the Seabass is stewed in chef’s Kerala-style curry with assorted vegetables in the likes of okra and eggplant. The Roti Prata is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Red Wine Beef Stew (MYR 29)

Percik Ayam (MYR 25)

Nyonya Fried Chicken Wings (MYR 20)

Truffle Mashed Potato (MYR 12)

If you are just looking for a quiet yet cozy place to chill over coffee and Instaworthy desserts, Living Room is your go-to as well.

Personally, I love the taste of Cony, so I'd recommend that big time.

Sleeping Teddy - ganache, chocolate cake, macadamia, mousse (MYR 38)

Mini Dolphin - cotton cheesecake/macadamia (MYR 38)

These cute cakes make really good surprise gifts for your friends and/or family. Call Macalister Mansion up to place your order in advance if you were to take any of them away.

There are a lot more dishes that I didn't get to try out during the food review because we were too full to add anything to the table but you can refer to the menu of Living Room here.

Besides that, guests can also indulge in a relaxing afternoon tea session with family and friends with their three-tiered Afternoon Tea with TWG tea labels for two at RM98 nett.

Most of the items mentioned above are a first come first served basis and prior reservation is highly recommended. Please get in touch with Macalister Mansion for more information or to make a reservation (details below).

It's been more than half a year since I had gone to a food review with both Olivia and Rach. The last time one was at Fei Brew Cafe so we were really thankful that Macalister Mansion extended invitations to all 3 of us, giving us the chance to get work done (this blog post), enjoy delicious dishes and have fun catching up and take a lot of selfies ♥
