DIY Michael Jackson Guitar Pick Necklace [Tutorial]

Lack of updates these days...I truly can't believe what a big mess I've gotten myself into. So many things happened within these few weeks...September is a mentally and physically exhausting month for me >< But finally things are slowly getting back on track right now. In other words, I am back to my nerdy-and-hiding-in-library life :x

Anyway, still remember my blog post about my accessories collection?

I mentioned that I wanted Grimmie's guitar pick necklace but I couldn't find it anywhere. I tried searching on the web and also asked my friend to look for me in USA and Canada, but we couldn't find one that looks like hers.

On the day of Michael Jackson's birthday, I ordered 10 guitar picks from eBay to add to my MJ collection because I thought it's been quite a while since I added more things to my collection (except for the newly purchased MJ iPhone case).

10 guitar picks for $3.80. Pretty reasonable to me. Because usually the guitar picks that I buy are at least RM1.50 or RM2. So this is totally a good buy! And what's more it's Michael Jackson for crying out loud!
Initially I didn't have any plans to do anything with them, just merely for collection purpose.
Then suddenly, an idea hit me!

Instead of keeping them as collection, I decided to turn them into a necklace. So I can proudly show them off whenever I want!

This is how it looks like!!!!!!!!

I can't believe right now I have my own multiple guitar pick necklace! And what more can I ask for?! I handmade it myself with MICHAEL JACKSON on it!!!

Tutorial starts here:
To make a guitar pick necklace, obviously, you need....GUITAR PICKS! Any form of guitar picks are okay for this! Do it according to your personal liking.

For me, apparently MJ is the best ;)

A necklace without any charms.

The pendant of this necklace got oxidized and I took it away, leaving behind a plain silver necklace.

A screw to "drill" a whole on the guitar pick.

In order to make a hole in the guitar pick, I would recommend this process. Although it's pretty time consuming, it doesn't damage the guitar pick and it ensures that the hole made is really nice.

Decide which part of the pick you want the hole to be made, then hold the screw at that position.

Then, slowly turn the screw in clockwise direction. It's the same concept as using a drill, just that you are doing this with you hands.

Make sure you hold the guitar pick in position so the hole will come out in a perfect round shape.

Keep on "drilling" until the screw finally pokes through the other side of the guitar pick.

PS: Do not attempt to try hitting the screw with a hammer in order to save your energy and time because according to my guitar teacher, this attempt will cause the guitar pick to crack due to the large momentum and force exerted on a tiny pick.

Remember, nothing good ever comes easy *MJ song* HEHE

This is the final outcome....

Like I said, it's a bit time consuming, that's why I recommend you do the "drilling" while watching TV to prevent boredom which may potentially drive you to give up on making your necklace xD

Some tiny rings which can be widely found on keychains or pendants. You get the idea of it.

Put the ring through the hole of the guitar pick and then put them onto the necklace. Don't forget to tighten the ring as much as possible to prevent the guitar pick from dropping.

Arrange the guitar picks in the order you like as you put them onto the necklace, as in watch out for the size of the gaps between each guitar pick. I recommend you keep the exactly same distance between every pick so the outcome will be nicer. Everything looks "balanced" and in place.....does that even make sense?! :p

Then that's all!

This is how I make my Michael Jackson necklace ;) Have fun trying!

PS: Ebay has a large collection of guitar picks (some of them are really really pretty) at quite reasonable prices, typically if you buy in bulks :)

Please feel free to share with me the guitar pick necklace that you made after reading this blog post of mine HEHEHE! I hope I didn't waste my time writing a tutorial for nothing. Honestly speaking, I'm bad at writing a tutorial...But oh well :p KEKE!

Yarra Valley Chocolaterie

Sorry for the lack of updates~ Life has been pretty hectic but surprisingly fun these days!

According to Alanis, she feels that I FINALLY found a balance between studying and socializing already (is that a good or bad thing?!)

Remember my wine tasting roadtrip post? While on the way to wine yards, we actually also dropped by a chocolate factory. This is my very first visit to a chocolate factory.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of chocolates anyway, maybe a GUMMY BEAR factory can level up my excitement by 2938584432934 times.

EEEWWW Chocolate frog!! Reminds me the chocolate frog from Harry Potter. Perhaps this is the mutated version ><

Transparent glasses that allow visitors to witness to process of making.

My friend was like "CHOCOLATE SHIT!!!" when he saw this!!!

Here's the real deal~ SHOP TILL YOU DROP! <---- Wait, I shall change CHOCO TILL YOU DIABETES! LOL!

Anyway, [random much] I feel food is just like electricity....

You don't have to know how electricity works in order to use it right?! You just click on the switch on the wall and there's electricity. Food is the same as well. Don't have to know the complicated process, just buy and EAT!!! HAHAHA!!! That applies to chocolates too!

I love the packaging of these! So calm and peaceful. They look like some images stolen from Tumblr.

Diabetes for sure!

1 metre long chocolate bar.

Free chocolates for testing.

Apparently we took a lot of these and ate like a potluck party on our way back home HAHA! I personally prefer the white ones!

Mint is always my favourite! It never goes wrong! Well at least, in desserts. Can't imagine a mint flavoured KIMCHI!! WTH!!! >< LOL! You get the joke don't cha?!

No matter how tempting they look, the prices are enough to scare customers away! IMO at least :/

HAHA! I whatsapp-ed this photo to my #addiction when I saw this :p Froggybaby she calls herself! This is sooooo...HER! xD

Look at the damn price~

Some aboriginals' decorations.

Chocolate bathing soap! I wonder will ants come after that?! Probably not if you were to use it in Australia, but high possibility if it's in Malaysia :p Originally planning to buy this for my #BADInfluence's birthday, but I thought it's a pretty stupid idea!

Check out Yarra Valley Chocolaterie if you happen to go on a wine tasting roadtrip around Yarra Valley ;)

PS: I have lots of interesting posts coming out these days, so STAY TUNED yeah ;) from my busy yet interesting life xD
