San Francisco Coffee @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

Cafes are everywhere - that's definitely one similarity that both Penang and Melbourne share. It's one big blessing for me because I love going to cafes...and because I miss Melbourne so much!

Since its establishment in 1997, San Francisco (SF) Coffee has opened over 40 outlets in Malaysia but there was never one up in the North until last week!

The very first SF Coffee finally opened its doors to the public at ground floor of Gurney Plaza for Penangites.

The event began with a sharing session between Dato Jaya JB Tan (Chairman of Envictus International), Dato Kamal YP Tan (Group CEO of Envictus International), Ms Koo Sue San (GM of SF Coffee), Mr Nik Azwaa Azmi (Head of Marketing of SF Coffee) and Penang-raised artist Ms Anna Maria.

Then it was time to reveal the beautiful mural themed "Coffee, Beach and Sea" drawn by Ms Anna Marie.

Time for refreshments!

Off to the counter to get my free drink of the day.

Not only pastries, SF Coffee also serves main dishes like sandwiches, wraps, pastas and salads.

SF Coffee goes by their "1" Rule whereby their coffee beans are used within 1 month from being roasted and bagged, 1 week from the bag being opened and 1 hour from being grounded in ensuring that they deliver the freshest coffee possible all the time.

My iced caramel latte!

I was more of a cappuccino / chai latte girl back in Melbourne but the weather's too hot in Malaysia so no more hot drinks for me from now onwards T_T

If you are not a coffee person, don't worry SF Coffee does have frappuccinos, juices, sparkling drinks and chocolates too!

Thank you SF Coffee for having me there. I'll come back again for the iced caramel latte ;)
