My 2020 New Year's Resolutions

I entered 2020 without having a solid list of resolutions for the first time in so many years because I thought it was enough to keep everything in my head. Unknowingly, that's the reason why I felt antsy, lost and blur right away in the first 2 weeks of January. After talking to my bestie, she highly recommended that I write recaps and/or resolutions like how I did in the previous years (2013/2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018/2019, 2019). Plus, a few friends and/or readers were asking for this kind of blog post.

So here I am again with my list of resolutions for 2020:

♠ Get really good and consistent with stock trading to grow my portfolio by at least 300%.
Although this seems quite far-fetched and kinda a wishful thinking for an amateur trader, I personally believe that one year is actually suffice for you to achieve whatever you set your mind to. It's not unrealistic because compounding is a lot more powerful than you think.

♠ Officially launch my business(es).
I talked about this back in 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the right space of mind to handle that back then. Now, I have clearer vision and also a calmer mind to deal with all these things, so it's time to get down to business. I'm not going to disclose much at this moment but something's definitely brewing at the moment!

♠ Move to Korea and live like a local for 3-4 months.
This has been a dream of mine for the longest time ever - and it shouldn't be a new thing to anyone anymore because I have been preaching about how the kimchi is better on that side since the year of 2011. In the meantime, I have to sharpen my Korean language skills more as well as focus on point #1.

♠ Read at least 1-2 books per month.
Last year, I set out a goal to read at least 20 books but sadly, I was only halfway there. I found myself spending way too much time and effort trying to bulldoze through books that were so damn dry that it was almost a torture. This year, my aim is to read/learn more effectively and efficiently. If there's a book that I don't enjoy going through, I'll just read up recaps online instead of forcing myself to finish the entire book.

♠ Grow my blog.
Despite being a blogger since the age of 14, I had never really put full attention into it because it was never my intention to become famous online or whatsoever. I started out because I needed a space to pen my thoughts and to store my photos. However, this year I am going to set specific goals for my blog and start covering more meaningful and purposeful topics such as my values, my opinions, lessons I learn as well as documenting my own growth in various aspects of my life. Be sure to stay tuned for more topics that will be popping up on Fionism.com ;)

♠ Take on new opportunities with the approval of my "Higher Self" if there's any.
I wrote in a recent blog post about how I grew up doing the seeming right things without ever questioning whether they were things that I resonated with. When I battled through my depressive phase, I realized that true happiness comes from growing at your own pace, in your own desired direction. Nevermind what other people say because I don't wanna put myself in the position of Titanic ever again - you can't sink a ship unless you let water get into it.

♠ Taking care of my health - mentally, emotionally and physically.
I think I did pretty OK in the past year especially with working out. This year though I wanna have more ripped abs and build my back muscles as well as commit myself to doing more meditation and/or mindfulness practices.

♠ Get my own home.
Though I still have no idea as to where I want to "settle down" physically, having my own cozy home where I could decorate it and fill it up with my personal likings has always been a fantasy of mine since I was a kid. Who knows I might finally get a cat after all these years of talking about it. However, this is not the utmost priority for me at this stage because if it doesn't make sense financially (especially if I were to move to Korea for a good few months and all that jazz), then I will just put it off till the next year. BUT...that being said, I really want a space where I can have black interior designs with large mirrors and a coffee machine though!

A small little tip for those of you who don't have the habit of writing down your resolutions, I highly recommend taking some time to sit down quietly with a pen and paper on your own (getting a nice planner is great too) to set a clearer path for yourself. Often times, life keeps us so busy that we tend to neglect the importance of checking our life GPS to ensure that we are still on the route to the life of our dreams.

Here's to the year where I turn more than a quarter-century-years-old! Hopefully I will be able to come back to this blog post on the 31st of December 2020 and give myself a big pat on the back for crossing everything off.

Let's slay 2020 together, shall we?!
